Project Leader's Blog
23.10.08 - 24 hours to the launch of the YPG site and feeling a little nervous. Has been tough at times getting stuff together but feel that things are looking better all the time Anne Greaves has done a great job.
There has been a lot of value in putting the site together it has really made us think very hard about the nature of the project and how difficult it can be to capture all of the hard work that has been done by students and schools. It has also forced us to think more carefully about the type of resources schools and geography teachers might want if they are to draw on the site to support geography teaching.
What other kinds of YPG geography do teachers want?

Maps of Experience
Trying to get more stuff written to go on the site. The Maps of Experience are looking good and seem to capture much of what the young people were feeling during the course of the project . I think its a valuable evaluation tool and encourages reflection in an interesting way good to maintain the geographical theme and see how the students draw on physical features to represent human experiences.
They seem very mindful fo the fact that the project has enabled them to bring something of themselves to school geography and some seem more comfortable wih the idea that they have their own geographies that shape how they see and experience the world.
How can we use this understanding more effectively in school geography?
